Welcome to the 36th Anniversary
of the
Orange Country Fair

Welcome To The Orange Country Fair Website
1898 - 1912
1975 - 2010
Welcome to the start of the
Orange Country Fair. For the Bicentennial celebration for the
town of Orange, a small group of people were asked to plan an
“Old Tyme Fair.” Our first Fair was in 1975 at Mary L. Tracy
School. Two years later we moved to High Plains Community
Center. In 1980 we held the Fair at what is now known as the
Orange Country Fairgrounds. Over the years we cleared acres of
land and built six buildings. In 1992 we built the Farmer’s
Museum, in 1993 the Exhibit Hall, in 1999 the Gazebo and
permanent Restrooms, in 2004 the Food Pavilion, and in 2007 the
Livestock building.
The Connecticut Fair Association first classified our Fair as a
Local Fair, then a District Fair. For our thirty fifth year we
are now a Major Fair in Connecticut. This was possible because
we have very dedicated and loyal Fair committee members,
merchants, vendors and friends that make the Fair such a great
success.
As always, the Fair plans many events, displays,
activities and entertainment for your enjoyment. Our
food booth is maintained by many volunteers from Orange
and the surrounding towns. We take pride in bringing you
a wonderful, educational and family oriented, fun-filled
weekend. See you September 19th and 20th!
